Olly Olly & co is a premium, sustainable activewear brand made from regenerated ocean waste and other recycled materials.
The brand was born after a stint working in a beach bar in Peru where we’d do weekly beach cleans with the community and discovering the devastation and widespread issue that was plastic pollution. Approximately 8 million pieces of plastic pollution find their way into our oceans every day. When I returned to London I wanted to get involved with creating solutions to this problem. As someone who grew up surfing on the Atlantic coasts in Ireland, the sea was something that I loved, respected and wanted to do everything I can to protect.
Despite being a small brand, we at Olly Olly & co want to prove that it is possible to do things the right way and ensure that every step of our supply chain has ethical standards, sustainable manufacturing and carbon footprint considerations at its core. We do this by only working with people who are aligned to our values. This slows the process but allows us to be considerate of the environment and its people at every single step of the journey.
The Materials
Loungewear
Our loungewear is made out of pre and post consumer fabric offcuts that would otherwise end up in landfill and blended with fibres from recycled bottles. Any dyes used are vegan, water based and environmentally friendly, non toxic inks. The cotton has Global Organic Cotton Standard(GOTS) certified organic cotton.
Factories
We work with two factories, one in Portugal and one in London who are both aligned to our values. Both factories are Sedex members and SMETA certified as well as paying their employees higher than the average minimum wage. They are highly skilled in their profession and small batch orders are kept to a minimum to reduce any waste.
Packaging and Distribution
All our packaging is eco-friendly. We use compostable mailers and recycled(as well as recyclable) tissue paper. Our tags are made from FSC approved, recycled paper and our string is made from hemp.We distribute your beautiful garments using 100% carbon neutral shipping.
